Mokoomba is a Zimbabwean musical group, originally from Chinotimba township, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The group sings in a number of languages including English, Luvale, Tonga, Nyanja, Ndebele and Shona. Mokoomba takes its name from a Tonga word that connotes deep respect for the Zambezi river and the vibrant life along its banks. Mokoomba combine traditional and modern instruments and a variety of international pop and pan-African styles – including soukous, funk and reggae – to bring together different cultures from Southern, East and Central Africa.

Flying Bantu

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Flying Bantu is a musical act from Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Their sound embodies various flavors and boldly expresses an Afro: Rock/Reggae/Funk mix which can best be described as Fusion. Flying Bantu was selected to open the stage for the Zimbabwean legend Oliver Mtukudzi, who performed for jubilant crowds at the icon’s 65th birthday concert at the Artscape Theater in Cape Town. The band had the honor of opening the stage for yet another music icon when they were asked to share the stage with Johnny Clegg in front of thousands of fans at his last performance ever.

So Kindly is finally heading back home to the Falls after two back-to-back residencies in Los Angeles and London to record and write his next body of work; and #RTRVF22 is going to be his first home-town stage in well over a year! So Kindly's mix of Electronic-Dance with warm and soulful Indie-Folk has a way of capturing people's attention; and with a voice that "sounds like whisky" along with his bouncy, funky fresh electro-folk indie vibes, Mr Kindly is due to repeatedly jubilate our ear holes with every track he plays!

Evicted

Evicted are undoubtedly Zim's favourite "Afro-Rock" band. Their sound is something along the lines of traditional Zimbabwean music fused with rock & funk. A unique blend of ethnic and western styles backed by amazing passion & energy and BIG stage performance! Evicted have a new album on the way that is unlike anything Zim has ever heard before, and Rock The River is beyond excited have them join the line up for us hear it up close and personal on on New Year's Eve 2022!

Djembe Monks

Djembe Monks is an award winning act that consists of incredible traditional djembe rhythms fused with electronic house music that creates an electrifying blend of sounds that captivate and move the mind, body and soul! Their hypnotic blend of sound and rhythm has seen them fast become a recurring feature on many a festival stage regionally, and now it is their turn to Rock The River for us at #RTRVF22

Tariro NeGitare

Harare, Zimbabwe

Tariro NeGitare is a Zimbabwean guitarist, singer and songwriter. She plays and original mix of indigenous African sounds and contemporary urban styles with a strong afro-soul feel. Tariro started playing the guitar when she was 13 year old and has since shared the stage with some of Zimbabwe's finest musicians.

Mazula

With no set band, style or destination, Mazula is simply the musical journey of Vusa & Zoë Mazula. Mazula wanders through life writing, collaborating and performing putting their value to organic food projects, creative education techniques & true human rights knowledge. With both African & English cover songs woven into the mix, Mazula is a family favourite that will undoubtedly have you tapping and swaying in true African delight!

Origami Live

All over!

Origami Live is a musical trio consisting of Tich Makalisa on Keys and Decks and Sisonke Xonti on Saxophones. This year the act features Jazz maestro Max Vidima on the trumpet! Tich and Sisonke both studied at the acclaimed University of Cape Town and are both established Jazz musicians, composers and session musicians and have won various awards including Standard Bank Young Artist of the year.

Dj Francis

Dj Francis Aka Chiggz is back on the decks after a brief sabbatical, and this time he ain't holding back! No, you won't be hearing Summer of '69 or ABBA this time round! As Victoria Falls most' longstanding and well-known wedding DJ, The Legendary Chigmeister will be unleashed on the crowd and at an ungodly hour and he'll finally get to have his way with us wheather we like it or we like it!

Deep House, Afro House and an array of other mind-twisting electro-dace genres will be spewing from of his decks to really end the party in style!
